“There is nothing like coming to the market. I order often from Instacart because I am strapped for time, but there is nothing that substitutes for coming to the market. You can touch and see your food and engage in conversations with people who teach you things about the food you are eating. Above all, it saves you money. I can get in and out of here with the $45.00 in my pocket. I come here mainly because it is in my neighborhood, but also because there is a girl named Christina at one of the farm stands who gives me a new recipe every week. It usually has to do with a new vegetable that they just put out at the stand, and this week it’s a celery root and potato soup. I’m looking forward to making that this week. I also get a lot of my inspiration from a site called the Minimalist Baker, I love her, she is so dope. She focuses on 10 ingredients or less that take under 30 minutes to cook.”
