“I grew up in Southern New Jersey and we had Italian farmers who lived on either side of us.  They would bring us fresh produce each week.  It was really special. They ended up teaching my family and me about so many different kinds of vegetables that we weren’t used to seeing here in the states.  Maybe they were not as fashionable back then.  Now that I live in the city I try and shop from the farmers each week.  I find it so much more preferable than shopping at the grocery store since I get a higher quality.  This escarole is so beautiful. It’s incredible. I love to saute it with garlic and olive oil and put it on top of some fresh pasta.”
