“I mostly draw upon family recipes and use ingredients I learned to combine when I was young. I’ll eat anything kimchi related. If you take old kimchi you can reheat it in a pot and make kimchi stew, or kimchi pancakes. When I get lazy I use fermented vegetables that I keep in the refrigerator and add it to rice. Simple, fast, and its good for you.”

“I don’t really ever meal plan because I don’t have the time.  Instagram really inspires my cooking.  Growing up, my family passed a lot of Haitian recipes down to me…by force.  I didn’t really want to cook them, but now I know how to make a few traditional Haitian dishes. They take forever to cook though- it’s definitely time consuming.  My favorite one to make is called Diri Ak Djon Djon. It’s a rice dish with dried mushrooms that are hard to find anywhere besides Haitian grocery stores.”
