"In my opinion you should want to spend more money on the things you are putting in your body."
Girl: “One year during the summer, they did this big tasting with all of the tomatoes. I went a little overboard and ended up spending $20 on tomatoes. I still get excited, but you know… not $20 excited. It’s hard not to want all of this beautiful food in your house. It feels like you are part of supporting the right kind of businesses and people. I was just having this conversation about being on a budget. I was saying, ‘Maybe I should go to the neighborhood bodega to cut back on my food expenses’, but then I realize that the few dollars extra end up going to a local and neighborhood farm, and I feel better about that.”
Guy: “I justify spending the extra amount that goes towards my vegetables being local and from local farms by cutting back on a few dollars that I would spend on a drink, or something like that. It’s an interesting conversation the country is having about the value of food and what we put into our body versus external material things. In my opinion you should want to spend more money on the things you are putting in your body.”
